The PINE | NUDE-ON-NUDE Study series delves into the subtle interplay of neutral monochromatic colors, focusing on variations of lightness and darkness within pine wood's pale white/yellow tones. This exploration emphasizes the nuanced gradations of a single color, avoiding using contrasting hues. Inspired by collaborative art projects with individuals from the blind community, the series is created on Braille pages from "Dining in the Dark," a provocative event designed to simulate a dining experience with a visual impairment. The event, often featured at the Harkin Institute's summit, offers a sensory experience that fosters a more profound understanding of accessibility challenges faced by people with disabilities. Through this series, artist Jill Wells explores sensory awareness and inclusivity in art. This series was exhibited in the "DARK SENSORY SPACES" exhibition at The Paul V. Galvin Fine Arts Center, St. Ambrose University.
